5 Treatments Down...

I can't believe it's been two months since my last entry, it's been a very hectic start to the year.  I've finally gotten around to my latest update.  I have now had 5 treatments with the E-one laser.  The results on my underarms have been great.  I can probably count the amount of hairs that are left on both sides.

The results on my arms have been varied.  Initially hair was slow growing back and what did grow back was as light and fine as it always was.  Now however, the hair that is growing back is darker in colour and looks like it has been shaved, not sure if you can tell from the photos below.  After reading a comment posted by Beachbody though, I think I might try rezapping the hair that isn't gone after two weeks. Hopefully that will help.  I can't wait til next summer, when I'll hopefully be at the maintenance stage and only have to use the laser a couple times during the year.

As for peripherals, I need to reorder a cartridge soon, but I've still got plenty of the gel left.  I've only recently started using the second bottle. I'll continue zapping and will hopefully have an update for you in the not too distant future.

3 treatments later...

It's been a while since my last update so I thought I would let you know how it's going now that I have had 3 treatments with my e-one. I can honestly say I am happy with my results so far, especially on my underarms where I only have a few hairs left. I am also able to use the machine at full strength now without pain so that's great. It was definitely worth the investment, especially as I am much happier doing the treatments myself, in my own time and not in a salon. Off on holidays this week so I will try to post some photos when I get back. Stay tuned...

Photos

As promised, here are some photos 3 weeks post first treatment with the E-one.  The before photo is a little blurry, but I think you can see the difference and the spots I missed!

Some results!

It has been 3 weeks since I first treated my face and underarms with the e-one and about 2 and a half weeks since treating my arms. I wasn't expecting to see much with this first treatment especially on my arms where I hadn't removed the hair at all prior to treatment. However this seems to have worked best on my arms. I have big patches of bare skin where there isn't any hair. I can clearly see where I have missed spots on my arms and on my right underarm. As with IPL which I have had previously had the hair just doesn't fall out, but there is no resistance at all when I touch the hair with tweezers. It just slides out like the root has melted away.
I am very excited about these initial results and can't wait to see what will happen after another treatment. I've tried to take photos but for some reason they aren't very clear. Will have another go before my next blog. Will keep you posted on how I go with my next treatment. Stay tuned...

Still zapping!

Last night I used my E-one machine on my arms. I am a little nervous that I had to shave first. I am praying this works, otherwise I am going to have horrible stubble on my arms and it's almost Summer. Once again I was able to comfortably use the machine on the highest setting. It did take quite a bit longer to zap all the hair this time, at just over an hour. First I used the white pencil to divide the arm in half lengthways and then in four sections width ways. I wanted to be super sure that I didn't miss a spot. Now I am just waiting to see results!
I made a couple of discoveries this time. Firstly you need to be generous with the optical gel as it is less painful as well as more effective. Secondly you should read the info on the E-one forum carefully before starting! I have been using the wrong skin colour setting till now. I am quite fair and thought I would be a 2 on a scale of 1-5, from light to dark. However after reading a post earlier I actually discovered I'm a 3. Hope this doesn't make it less effective! Will have to wait and see. Will keep you posted with results as they happen. Stay tuned!

My E-one machine arrives!!!

I ordered my E-one machine on Friday and it has arrived 3 working days later.  Not bad!!  I got a blue machine that came with one bottle of optical gel, a pair of groovy, dark, safety glasses, a white pencil to outline the treatment area, a cleaning spray and some patches to cover moles, birthmarks, etc.  I also ordered 2 extra bottles of gel because each one lasts for 1000 flashes and you get 3000 flashes form each cartridge.  Before using the machine you need to wash and shave the area first.  I am going to start with my underarms and face.  I have a couple of hairs reappearing on my upper lip after I had it lasered years ago, but I am not game enough to shave them.  They are very sparse so I hope it still works.  As for my underarms, I had them lasered years ago and stopped after a couple of sessions.  The pain was unbearable!  The laser head back then was also very small and it took ages to do.  Those couple of sessions did make quite a difference, but I still have a ways to go.  Let's hope this isn't as painful.  Tad nervous now!
Okay, just finished both upper lip and underarms in about 10 minutes!  I was able to use the machine on the highest setting (6) on my face without any pain.  All I felt was a little warmth on both my skin and teeth.  As for my underarms I was able to zap on level 5 with a some discomfort, probably could go to 6 but I wasn't game enough!  Haven't got time to do my arms today, but will write about it when I do.  Stay tuned!

I ordered my E-one home laser hair removal machine

I will readily admit that I am a trichophobe- scared of hair to the uninitiated!  The slightest glimpse of an unwanted hair is enough to start a waxing, tweezing, bleaching, epilating frenzy.  Believe me I have tried all forms of hair removal and have a bathroom full of useless creams and devices all promising to leave my skin silky smooth and hair free.   I have spent lots of money on both laser hair removal and IPL with some success.  However my hair although brown, isn't dark enough or thick enough for it to work properly.  My quest for a hairless body has even left me with very painful and embarrassing burns on my arms by one 'therapist', which took at least a month to fade and a couple not entirely.

So when the warm weather finally started to appear last week, so did the panic.    I started to research new ways to achieve the ultimate goal of being hair free and came across the E-one personal hair removal device which is an at home IPL system.  I remembered seeing it on A Current Affair a while back.   It can be used on any hair colour other than red and white.  Apparently you use it every 4-6 weeks and permanent results are achieved after 10-12 sessions, with only a couple of maintenance sessions required yearly after that.  Needless to say I put my order in!  They have a 6 month money back guarantee promotion running at the moment.  Bonus!  At least I know it wont be sitting in a bathroom cupboard if it doesnt work.  Cant wait for it to arrive!!
